Marie B. Denneen

Marie Denneen was an assistant professor of Education who came from Minnesota in 1926 to supervise Latin teaching. In the summer of 1929 she taught Latin at the University of Iowa and was described this way in the staff listing of their Bulletin:

  1. Miss Marie B. Denneen is assistant professor of Latin in the North Carolina College for Women, and conducts the department of Hints in the Classical Journal. She has gained wide recognition in the field of teaching devices and applied pedagogy in the training of Latin teachers.

She taught Latin & Journalism in the Curry School and also taught in the Department of Latin from 1934 through 1941. She retired as an associate professor of Education in 1956.
