Odysseus

This famous 5th c. B.C. vase by the Siren Painter shows Odysseus strapped to the mast of his ship, listening to the seductive song of the Sirens. Inscriptions on the vase label Odysseus and the Siren at the prow of the ship who is called “Voice of Desire”. (See detail below.)
