Death of Agamemnon

This red figure krater from Athens (c. 470 B.C.) shows Aigisthos grabbing Agamemnon by his hair as the king (covered by a net) falls wounded. To the left (not in this view) is Clytemnestra who wields an axe; to the right is a female figure — perhaps Electra? — crying out at the murder and, (again not in this view) Cassandra fleeing the scene.
