This large bronze statue was found in the ocean near Artemisium and the figure was therefore originally identified as Poseidon. A copy of the statue was given to the United States by Greece and now stands in the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C.


On this red figure Panathenaic amphora, c.480 B.C., Zeus stands with his regular attribute, the thunderbolt, in his left hand and a sceptre in his right.
