About

Kristen (David) Hagerty (B.A. 2014)

In May of 2014 I graduated from UNCG with a B.A. in Classical Studies (Language & Literature concentration), and Archaeology, as well as a minor in General Music. A busy and exciting week after graduation I married my husband, Matt, and spent 11 days in St. Thomas immersing myself in the rich Caribbean culture and brief Danish colonial period of the Virgin Islands which served in a small way to prolong my passion for history. I had a goal of pursuing a career in the legal field and held down three jobs at one point, two in law firms, until May of 2015 when I began work as a Real Estate Paralegal in High Point, North Carolina. Since then I have assisted over 200 individuals in the purchase or refinancing of their homes, including my own which my husband and I have begun construction on and plan to finish in late spring of 2016. At this time I’m not actively pursuing any further degrees but I continue to look for ways to feed my obsession with history and archaeology through articles of recent archaeological discoveries, classes on early Church history and development, and even traditional Roman cookbooks. I do plan on travelling abroad again at some point after our new house is complete and look forward to exploring other cultures. UNCG’s Classical Studies Dept. provided for me an appreciation of Ancient History and Literature for which I will always be grateful.
